Swansea Airshow 2011

THE skies above Swansea Bay became the stage for a giant air show this July featuring the legendary Lancaster bomber and the famous Red Arrows.

And the second part of the two-day event headlined a display by the RAF Falcons.

The Lancaster, which began Saturday’s Swansea Air Show, became the most famous and successful of the Second World War night bombers and delivered more than 608,000 tons of bombs in over 156,000 sorties.

Other Saturday highlights included a spectacular show by the Red Arrows.

It's expected over 60,000 people will flock to the seafront for the two day event

Cambrian Flying Club were there at the show with a display stand and also made a fly-by down the sea front with 3 club planes.
